At Smiles on Chapel, we’re here to help your children on their way. Our dental clinic was founded on the basis of becoming the most elite and well-known family practice in the south west of Sydney. Led by our own Aiman, we pride ourselves on providing fantastic treatments for young children and adolescents.
Aiman is highly experienced working with children who focuses on making each visit an enjoyable learning experience. Whether they’re nervous about their next check-up or it’s their first time at the dentist, we will work with you and your children to ease any dental anxieties.
Our Approach to Dentistry for Children
When it comes to children’s dentistry, we like to explain all procedures in a language that children can understand without speaking down to them.
We find that when you thoroughly explain the procedures, children tend to be more comfortable with the treatment. With this in mind, their journey from the waiting room through to the surgery is calm and caring.
When Should My Child Have Their First Visit to the Dentist?
We recommend bringing your child to the dentist from the age of two or after their first tooth erupts, whichever comes first. However, from just a few weeks old, you can start caring for their gums by wiping them down with a damp cloth after feeding.
Before their first visit, your child can enjoy watching Peppa Pig’s First Dental Visit or the likes to help ease them into the dental setting. Alternatively, you may want to bring them along to one of your dentist appointments.

Protecting Their Teeth into Adulthood
At Smiles on Chapel, some of the treatments and services we may recommend include:
- Working closely with an orthodontist – to ensure your child’s dental needs are addressed at all stages of their development.
- Fissure Sealants – These protective coatings are placed on the molars to help prevent decay in your child’s first adult tooth around the age of 6
- General Dentistry Check-Ups – Including thorough examinations, cleaning and photographs and x-rays if required.
- Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) referrals – for those children who have snoring or other sleep difficulties
